Unverified / Mis-attributed

DARBY’S RANGERS (1958): many sources, including Leonard Maltin’s annual movie guide, list Janssen as being in this film. This is erroneous.

Notes

Janssen was quoted as having made 32 films during his contract player years at Universal-International (early 1950’s). In fact, he made only 18. Longtime publicist Frank Liberman thinks Janssen 'made up the number' once in an interview and it was erroneously carried over in future bios and press releases.

Janssen’s scenes were cut out of the final theatrical release version of NO ROOM FOR THE GROOM (1952).

NEVER SAY GOODBYE (1956) was also known as A TIME REMEMBERED.

SHOWDOWN AT ABILENE (1956) was shot as GUN SHY.

LAFAYETTE ESCADRILLE (1958) was shot as C'EST LA GUERRE and had a UK title of HELL BENT FOR GLORY.

KING OF THE ROARING TWENTIES (1961) was also called THE BIG BANKROLL.

BELLE SOMMERS (1962) was the theatrical release of a TV pilot called THE INSIDER.

TWENTY PLUS TWO (1961) was also known as IT STARTED IN TOKYO and NIKKI (pre-production title).

MAN-TRAP (1961) was shot under the title DEADLOCK.

WHERE IT'S AT (1969) had a pre-production title of THE SPITTING IMAGE.

GENERATION (1969) was re-released under the title A TIME FOR GIVING.

PRISONER IN THE MIDDLE (1977) had alternate titles of SABRA COMMAND, WARHEAD, AND WARHEAD OPERATION: MIDEAST.

TWO-MINUTE WARNING (1976) shot additional footage specifically for the network TV premiere. However, no new footage of Janssen was filmed.

GOLDEN RENDEZVOUS (1977) was also called NUCLEAR TERROR for its TV release.

COVERT ACTION (1978) had the alternate Italian title of SONO STATO UN AGENTE CIA and also was called SPY KILL.

Janssen was cut out of the final theatrical release version of INCHON (1981). The original edited version with Janssen aired on cable in 2000.
