On this Art Linkletter-hosted show, David came on as a contestant (as himself) with school buddies Jerry Evans and Fred Backer.

The contest was to see if one of the boys could make a soda date with a girl on the telephone within 60 seconds. David got the challenge to make the call. He did it in 30 seconds and won $100.

This was a 30 minute show created by Rev. Patrick Peyton which ran from 1947-1957. The emphasis was on family prayer and this was episode #460 and the 9th anniversary show.

Janssen recorded this on 1/18/56 from 445p-830p at studio 6 of the facilities of KHJ in Los Angeles.

Janssen was under contact to Universal when he did this and was working on the film THE TOY TIGER.

Unverified / Mis-attributed

Year unknown, Janssen in his youth played piano accordian on the program "CHILDREN'S HOUR” in Casper, WY.

About 1941, Janssen read a poem “Injuns On the Brain” on radio. Name of show and station unknown.

1945, Janssen may have played Billy in the “CAPTAIN MARVEL” show. Janssen made an audition recording on 10/17/45. He was, by his mother’s account, very nervous and anxious to get it right. The 3-minute recording took 3-1/2 hours to do as Janssen would muff a word on each record and it had to be redone. The recording was sent to the East Coast verdict for a decision and the outcome is unknown, but Janssen was quoted in1953 in his Army base newsletter as having done this show.

9/12/48, Janssen was on the radio at 3pm on KGIL-show unknown.

10/10/48, Janssen was on the radio on KGIL-show unknown.

Year unknown, but while in high school, Janssen acted on the serial “THE SMITH FAMILY" according to his apartment complex newsletter. This may have been the show "THE SMITHS OF HOLLYWOOD" broadcast on the Mutual Network in 1947.
