Notes: Janssen was 20 when he went on this talent showcase show on local Los Angeles television. Hosted by Haven McQuarrie, the format was to give theatrical hopefuls scripts from famous plays to perform. This occured 3 months before the break which would really put him on a path to a professional acting career -- a contract with Universal-International.

Janssen 3rd known appearance on "Juke Box Jury" had him voting on the latest recording company singles along with Jerry Lewis, Amanda Blake, and Ann Blyth.

Janssen had credited Miss Blyth earlier in the decade with given him assistance to be assigned to Fort Ord's Special Services thus avoiding assignment in Korea during his Army stint.

Notes: Janssen flew to New York to accept the TV-Radio Mirror Award for Best Actor for 1964. Elizabeth Montgomery was the recipient for Best Actress for "Bewitched" and her award was accepted by co-star Agnes Morehead.

Others appearing were Lorne Green, E.G. Marshall, Jim Nabors, Vivian Vance, Al Ludden, Richrad Crenna, and Frank Buxton. It aired late night from 11:15pm-1am.

On the show Janssen demonstrated a British accent he seemed particularly proud of. (Thanks to Brian Cuddy)

The episode "The Old Man Picked A Lemon" worked without him allowing him to fly to New York and back if in fact this Carson show originated from the East Coast as believed.)

When asked how it felt to be through running, Janssen replied that the show ended “with a great sense of accomplishment... we all felt we had done a good job and were ready to move on.”
